Harry Potter; Post-DH

[name/nicknames] Lavender Rose Brown
[birthday] 6 April 1980 (Easter Morning)
[bloodline] FullBlood
[allegiance] Officially her family's stance is neutral, but Lavender is severely affiliated with the good side and the Order (and, yes, Harry).
[occupation] She wants to be a pet psychic, but failing that she'll go for working on the Dragon Preserve in Romania.
[school/house/years] Hogwarts, Gryffindor, 1991-1998
[owl/newt scores] Astronomy O/O. Charms E/E. DADA E/O. Divination O/O. Herbology E/E. HoM A/drop. Muggle Studies A/drop. Potions E/E. Transfiguration E/E.

[wand] 13 inches, rosewood, unicorn mane hair
[boggart] A giant bloody eyeball. (too many old muggle horror movies)
[patronus] a gecko
[in mirror of erised] her dad healthy again
[special abilities] Despite the fact that her giggles and squeals can break glass, Lavender has the uncanny ability to calm most animals with her voice. She can sing, but doesn't do it very often. She's also exceptionally good at divination. She's not a seer by any means, but she has particularly strong intuition, and in combination with her studies and practical common sense (which she has but rarely uses), she manages to use any form of spiritual medium to predict things fairly accurately. She also has near perfect style and the ability to turn even the ugliest of duckings into a swan if she's given the chance. And due to summers in Argentina, she speaks a decent amount of Spanish.

[build/height/weight] Very petite; 162 cm (5'4) and 62 kg (137lbs). Pretty much shapeless. But really, it's a wonder what the right kind of bra can do for a girl's figure. Before the wonder-bra, Lavender looked rather lanky and without curves. And after it, she has not only clevage but actual definition to her waistline.
[hair/eyes] Bright, sunshiny blonde hair! (yes, with the exclimation point!) And clear blue eyes with a dark blue ring around the iris.
[identifying marks] Her real defining marks are the werewolf claw marks down her left side. Her face, except a small part of her jawline was not marred, but her left ear is torn up, her neck, her shoulder, her arm, her boob, and part of her ribcage is marked up by Greyback's clawing at her.
[style] Lavender likes to think of her style as Wizarding Pop. She takes what she likes from the Wizarding World, as well as what she likes from the Muggle World and sort of meshes them together to form something that only she could pull off, and she manages to pull it off rather well. Lavender was born with style. She likes to keep it minimalistic as far as make-up and jewelry, though. Mostly because she thinks that too many chains are guady and caked-on make-up is tacky. As well as the fact that too much of that takes away from the shock-and-awe value of her own personal Lavender style.
[appearance] Blonde haired and blue eyes, Lavender is everything she could wish to be. She finds herself extremely beautiful, as do most men. She's had her bouts of low self-esteem (she is a girl after all) but for the most part is content with her appearance. She is generally a very appealing girl in appearance, with clear skin and a well-shaped body. She carries herself like any girl with confidence. Sometimes her style is a bit outlandish (though she swears she's always ahead of the current fashion trends!) but she knows exactly how to dress so that she accentuates curves and colors and everything that makes her beautiful and stunning.

[quirks] She twirls a lock of hair from the base of her neck around her finger when she's nervous. She clicks her tongue when she's thinking very hard (which also creates the queerest little crease just above her right eye). Her mouth tends to be left agape when she's angry. She is extremely verbally articulate and has wonderful diction and speech patterns.
[hobbies] Divination. Gossip. Witch Weekly. Taking care of everyone's pets.
[pet peeves] Pessimism. Shallow-mindedness. Injustice.
[first impression]
[likes/dislikes] She loves animals, bright colors, soft fabrics, divination, beaches and the ocean. And she dislikes uncleanliness, mean people, skeptics, vegetables, and mostly chauvinists.
[personality] Anyone who didn’t know her would assume that Lavender attended a finishing school. However, most of her personality training has come from either a. her Grandmother Catchlove, b. her mother, or c. Witch Weekly. She’s had two years of ballet, two years of voice training, and one year of archery. At age five, Lavender was determined to be a ballerina. That plan was forgotten at age seven when she knew, for certain, that her lot in life was to be a pop star. Another plan which failed when Lavender’s fickle ambitions turned to archery (because, as she told her family many-many times, she was going to grow up and be a female version of Robin Hood). Lavender’s ambitions are still fickle and subject to change at will, but as she grows up she is learning to understand herself better, therefore her choices are more solidly based.

That, however, has no bearing on her disposition. Lavender is bubbly and cheerful all the time. There are moments when she appears otherwise, but they are usually rather short lived. Because, as her motto goes, life is too short to be short! which is often misinterpreted to mean the height implication of short, instead of the attitude implication. And of course, she’s entirely too friendly to have ever meant something like that. She may appear perfect, but that doesn’t make Lavender snotty or shallow. Arrogant, however, is an entirely different ballpark. She’s beautiful and she knows it, and has no problems letting it be known.

She’s also rather prone to getting extremely attached to people extremely quickly. She falls in and out of love at least once a month. And she doesn’t see anything wrong with it. Her other motto (remember, she’s a fickle girl) is “The only difference between live and love is the I!” And what she means by this is that if you’re living, you should naturally be loving. And if you aren’t it’s because your own view of self is jaded (that’s where the “I” comes in). She was raised this way and isn’t going to go back on her breeding now. Especially considering that in the past few years she’s begun to believe this on her own, instead of just as something that she was brought up around.

[family/pets] Half of her grandparents are muggle-born. Her mum (Christine Catchlove, Ravenclaw alumni) and her dad (David Brown, Gryffindor alumni) are both halfbloods. She has a married brother, Byron, who is ten years older and a Ravenclaw alumni. Her sister-in-law is Tracey Travers (also a Ravenclaw alumni) and she has a niece (Maddison) who is now two. She's also distantly related to the Flints through her paternal grandmother (Ravenclaw alumni). BJ (Binky Jr.) a little white kitten bought to replace her poor bunny.
[childhood/current residence] Born and raised in Brighton.
[finances] Middle Class
[friends/enemies] Her very best mate is Parvati Patil. She's also close friends with Seamus Finnigan, Padma Patil, and Dean Thomas. But she can get along with anyone... with the exception of Voldemort & his followers
[sexuality/exes] Hetero. Attended Yule Ball with Seamus (nothing serious). Has dated her share of boys, somewhere around two dozen, but who's counting? (Lavender & Parvati are, they both have lists, hidden and hexed of course that list everything from who've they've dated, to who they've had some heavy snogs with. As well as who they would date/snog again -yes, Ron is on that list.)
[turn ons/offs] What Lav wants in a man is a good heart. She's also attracted to men who are personable, charming, considerate, cheerful, optimistic, and ones with a nice accent. But she will not tolerate them if they're rude, judgmental, impolite, dislike animals, or make fun of divination.

[history] When Lavender Rose Brown was born on Easter morning of 1980, it was quite a shock to her entire family. Well, not quite the same shock as when Christine found out she was pregnant for the second time, but rather a pleasantly surprised one. After her alliterative brother Byron Beck Brown was born, the equally alliterative Christine Cordelia Catchlove-Brown assumed that he would be it for her. Afterall, Lavender’s family tree on both sides was rather narrow. Few, if any, of her relatives have every had more than one child. And considering Byron was nearly ten, another pregnancy was quite the surprise for the Browns. None-the-less, Lavender was welcomed into the world on Easter morning and named after the loveliest of spring colours. Her mother was something of a socialite. She worked as a Medi-Witch for St. Mungos and dedicated most of her free time to making social calls, chairing events, and throwing parties. Her father was a business man, attempting to work his way up to the CEO position of the potions company he worked at. Lavender’s entire family was a cheerful bunch, and she grew up with no lack of love in her life. There were the occasional spats, of course, as there will be in every family, but Lavender was mostly shielded from those. She grew very close to her brother, but didn’t throw a fit or fall into depression when left for Hogwarts each year (mostly since he’d been doing it since she was three). Afforded every luxury of the upper-middle-class, Lavender was very spoiled. And still is.

She entered Hogwarts and was sorted into Gryffindor, as was expected. Her brother, both of her parents, and half of her grandparents had all been Gryffindor Alumni. She fell in love with Divination, and the batty old Professor Trelawny immediately, as well as Care of Magical Creatures. She does well in Astronomy, only because of its practical use in Astrology, which she studies heavily. Because of her very Gryffindor nature, when Trelawny was sacked (despite the enterance of Professor Firenze) Lavender (along with her best friends) fought back to fight the injustice of it. And when most other students were dropping Hagrid’s class in favor of things like NEWT Arithmancy and NEWT Transfiguration, Lavender stuck with the class. And not only because she was particularly good at calming Hagrid’s less-than-gentle creature choices. Lavender’s love for animals has spurned in her a desire to work with them as her permanent job. Her first choice, naturally, was to infuse her love of divination with her love of animals and become a pet psychic. However, since that didn't pan out, she ended up working on a dragon reserve (an idea which has stuck with her since the first task of the Tri-Wizard).

Lavender certainly has a colourful dating history, as well. From third year until just recently, Lavender has spent a good portion of her time focusing on her social status. Her date-book is still her most prized possession. However, in the past year she’s slowed her steadily climbing number of ex-boyfriends almost to a crawl. Perhaps this is maturity taking hold of Lavender. Or perhaps her mind is just otherwise occupied. Christmas of her second year, Lavender’s father had a stroke. He’s been steadily grown worse and worse in the past few years. Each summer her family goes to Argentina for the holiday, to try and help refresh him and work his health back up. However, they all know that he is steadily declining. He’s even taken to working less and less. But despite all this, there is still an air of cheeriness in the Brown home almost all the time.

In seventh year, when students were being pulled left and right, Lavender's parents gave her the option of transferring to Beauxbatons. But the Gryffindor in Lavender refused. She remained to be a part of the DA and help those who couldn't help themselves. When Lavender was permanently scarred by Fenrir Greyback, her family kept the chorus of "we told you so" at bay and tended to her as best they could. Lavender took her NEWTs over the summer while she was trapped in a hospital bed. Her family spent nearly six months in Argentina to help her recuperate. And when they finally returned to Europe, Lavender applied to the Romania Dragon Preserve in January of 1999. After some testing, she was brought on as a trainee. There is a long training process and then some interning before someone is allowed to be called a Dragon Tamer.
