Harry Potter; First War

[name/nicknames] Bellatrix Artemis Black-Lestrange. Bella. Trixie.
[birthday] 1 November 1951
[bloodline] Purest of purebloods.
[allegiance] Voldemort. Death Eaters. The Dark Side.
[occupation] No pureblood witch should ever work, period. But that's perfectly fine with Bella because it means she can devoter herself to being a Death Eater.
[school/house/years] Hogwarts, Slytherin, 1963-1971
[owl/newt scores] Ancient Runes E/A. Astronomy A/E. Charms O/O. DADA O/O. Herbology A/drop. HoM E/drop. Potions E/O. Transfiguration E/E.

[wand] 12.75 inch, walnut, dragon heartstring
[boggart] Chains. Bella fears becoming those she tortures. She fears going through what she puts them through. But above all Bella fears weakness. And to be locked away is to have shown a moment of weakness that was exploited.
[patronus] a Dementor (she fights fire with fire)
[in mirror of erised] Herself & Rodolphus at Voldemort's side with muggles and mudbloods at their feet.
[special abilities] Her speciality is the Cruciatus Curse. She's also particularly good at Occlumency.

[build/height/weight] She's tall, 168 cm (5'6"), with wide shoulders, big hands, and a strong stance. Her curves, tits, hips/ass, etc are all rather average looking though. She weighs about 57 kg (127 lbs).
[hair/eyes] Her hair is long, painfully straight, and jet black. All one length and extremely thin and light, but not at all bouncy. While her eyes are a very dark brown that almost looks black or crimson in the right light or lack there-of.
[identifying marks] While she's regained some of her beauty after her escape from Azkaban, she still looks a bit gaunt.
[style] Generally she wears a full skirt and a corset beneath her robes. Sometimes (around the house or when torturing) she drops the robe. Now and again (so rare only her husband and sister have seen it) she'll wear a lighter spring type dress.
[appearance] Were it not for the near constant sneer on her face, Bellatrix would be considered lovely. She has the shapely appearance that all Blacks are born with. She has a lovely pale complexion, high cheek bones, and thin but prominent (thanks to their coloring) lips. Her eyes are a lovely dark brown, almost black at times. Especially when she glares, which is frequently. Her hair, though frequently left long, is usually wild and untamed. Sometimes she pulls it back into a tight bun (when she's "working") or lets one of her servants do something with it (if the occasion calls for it). For the most part, though, it's in wild tangles around her face. Even if she runs a brush through it, Bella's hair usually looks like a mess, so she doesn't often bother. And as far as make-up, she doesn't bother. Every now and again, if Druella nags her into it, Bellatrix will apply a bit of make-up (blacks, reds, darker colours like that).

With clothes, it's all about comfort for Bella. Comfort and practicality. Normally she wears a corset and a full skirt, dark colours, of course. And, of course, her robes. Unless she's home alone, in her bedroom, or in the dungeon "playing", Bella always has her robes on, as is proper. Every now and again she's found in a light sun dress or something that might be considered really girly, but the occasion is so rare even her parents sometimes suspect it's just a rumor. Really Bellatrix couldn't care any less about her appearance. Her reputation is more important. She likes to appear as cruel and heartless as possible. The meaner she looks, the less girly she looks, the more she'll be respected by the men in the inner-circles. After all, if her Aunt Walburga can pull it off, Bellatrix has no doubt that she can as well.

[quirks] Stares off with a vacant expression when she's pondering. has to sleep with a warm body. alcoholic when she's angry/depressed/hurt. control-freak.
[hobbies] torturing mudbloods/muggles. potions and a bit of alchemy.
[pet peeves] mumbling. stuttering.
[first impression] She comes off immediately as cold hearted and cruel. Most people find her a bitch upon first meeting. She also seems arrogant, and ignorant in her arrogance (as most people are). She seems like a mindless drone to Voldemort. All these are, at least, partially correct.
[likes/dislikes] She likes blood, gore, death, violence, and meat. She dislikes mudbloods and most fruits.
[personality] Bellatrix is quite possibly the most frightening woman alive. At her best she often surpasses even her Aunt Walburga in intimidation. Men and woman alike avoid her at all costs. Bellatrix has no problem being snubbed by society birds. She wants nothing to do with that kind of a life. Suitors have been few and far between in Bella's life. Mostly because Bellatrix has killed or maimed any that attempted to request her hand. Bella made it well known that she was exactly what she wanted to be. Nothing would be done with or in her life unless she was the one making the decisions. Bellatrix would not marry to be seen as property. She wanted a man who would see her as an equal. She wanted to be loved, not adored. She wanted to be respected, not worshiped. Although being worshiped didn't seem like quite a bad idea, just so long as she wasn't seen as a china doll. Most men put their wives on a pedestal, afraid they would break. They try to keep them from harm and hide the rough parts of life from them. Bella would have none of that. And decided that she wouldn't marry until she found it.

Of course, just because Bella found it wouldn't mean that her attitude or personality would change. Bella is, and always has been, the thing that makes up nightmares. In fact, as a child, she often was the cause of Andromeda and Regulus' nightmares. She loves being the cause of fear and the subject of hate and scorn. Her favorite pastime is torturing muggles and muggleborns. She even has a specific dungeons that are hers alone. She is frequently found covered in blood when returning from the rooms. And if it weren't for daily cleanings by house-elves, Bella's dungeons would be covered from floor to ceiling with a good couple inches of dried blood. And very likely sloshed alcohol. Because Bella likes to drink. Well, not so much likes, as it's a habit. She's a bit of an alcoholic. When she's pissed off, depressed, or otherwise emotional, she drowns her sorrows in the strongest alcohol she can acquire. And then returns to her previous cold demeanor.

[family/pets] Bella is the purest of purebloods. Her father was Cygnus Black and her mother was Druella Rosier, both purebloods from long lines as well as Slytherin Alumni and so rich they didn't have to work. She grew up with two sisters, Narcissa is one of maybe five that she will admit loving, and as far as Bellatrix is concerned Andromeda doesn't exist and is in no way related to her. She has three brother-in-laws, only two that she claims, Lucius Malfoy (who she really isn't fond of) and Rabastan Lestrange (who she adores as much as Bellatrix can adore anyone), and there is also Ted Tonks (but he's a filthy mudblood and deserves no less than death in her opinion). When Nymphadora was a child, she wanted to take the girl in and at least try and raise her right, even though she was a mudblood (Bella knew she herself was barren) but obviously Andromeda wasn't having it. And now she hates Nymphadora and her mudblood loving ways as much as Andromeda. Draco, however, is the center of her affections and all her spoiling. She can't have children, so from the moment Narcissa conceived, Bella was determined to spoil Draco as if he were her own. Her pets are a myriad of snakes that are as close to children as she can come. Natasha is her boa. Napoleon is her cobra. Khan is her eastern brown. And there are a handful more. All full-sized, deadly, and raised from eggs by Bella herself.
[childhood/current residence] She grew up in the Black Estates, a large property where the family graveyard is. It's been passed down through generations like Grimmauld Place has, so it had a lot of history to it when Bella was younger, things that helped develop her sense of right and wrong. It's located South East of Carlisle just outside the city of Penrith, which originated as the Black family country home (as opposed to Grimmauld in London) and eventually the estates were divided between the children (Sirius the elder building Grimmauld & Cygnus the elder recieving the Black Estates). Currently she lives in the Lestrange Manor, her husband's family home.
[finances] Most of the Lestrange fortune, and her half of the Black inheritance, is stored away in other countries. While a bit wreckless and optimistic, they weren't stupid enough to think it was impossible for them to be captured and their assets seized, so they put their fortunes away where they wouldn't be triffled with by the ministry.
[friends/enemies] None. She serves the Dark Lord, possibly even loves him to the point of worship. She babies her younger sister, far too much. She loves her husband, though it is a far different love than what she feels for Voldemort. And she is nearing affection toward her brother-in-law Rabastan, though she is still cold to him most of the time. And as far as everyone else, they are either with Voldemort and thus ignored, or against and used for her target practice.
[sexuality/exes] Heterosexual. Only to her husband, Rodolphus. She married him because he treated her like an equal. But in her heart, dark as it is, she loves Voldemort as well. She bows to his every whim, whether it has to do with the war or not.
[turn ons/offs] She's turned on by power. She's turned off by kindness, naivety and weakness.

[history] The Black family has a long prestigious line. So it was no wonder that Cygnus and Druella were disappointed that their first-born was a girl. Little Bellatrix wouldn't be able to carry-on their name. Bella, however, was determined from birth to prove them wrong. She was a mean-spirited baby, kicking, biting, and throwing fits enough that the little time Druella actually spent with her daughter decreased significantly within the first year and a half of Bella's life. Druella was a society wife, she was well-bred and proper. She was a bit put off that her daughter was so disagreeable. Cygnus, however, young as he was, found it particularly amusing and spent all the time he could with his new baby girl. He might not have gotten the son he wanted, but it seemed that already Bellatrix was ready to prove that she could be just as good, if not better, than any son he might have had. And so for the first few years of her life, as an only child, Bellatrix was spoiled beyond what any normal child should be.

And then there was Andromeda. Bellatrix took an immediate dislike to the new baby. Despite abusing her mother, Bellatrix has no desire to share her with this new thing. And for about a year she tried to get rid of the baby. Attention, which Bella was certain was rightfully hers, was now going to this new child. Andromeda was so cute. And look at her little toes. And oh my goodness she just sat up. Or look at Andromeda walking. Bella was determined that the attention should come immediately back to her and was willing to do anything to get it. She started by merely asking if they could send the baby back. Or get rid of it. And when she kept getting told no, the toddler decided to take matters into her own hands. Bella started doing things like pushing her baby sister down the stairs, or covering her face with a pillow. And when she got in trouble for that, she just started being unusually mean. She took and broke Andromeda's things. When the baby got more attention than she did, Bellatrix would throw a fit. She would break things, throw things (even breaking her mother's nose once) and otherwise have a tantrum. Her magic started to surface at this time, an outward sign of how she was feeling inside, as if her tantrums weren't enough.

Narcissa's birth, however, was a completely different story. Bella had never loved anything before. She didn't even really love her parents. As a child, of course, there was the clinging to them and the need for them, but there wasn't truly love. Narcissa, however, was the climax of Bellatrix's five year old world. She was now accustomed to not being the only child and so her dislike remained on Andromeda and Narcissa received all of Bella's admiration. She spent much of their childhood taking care of Narcissa. If the other kids picked on her, they met with Bella's fists (or the end of whatever wand she could commandeer). If something wasn't going Narcissa's way, Bellatrix made threats and pushed people around until they fixed it. Bella's first act of murder was in defense of Narcissa, or something like it. A house-elf touched her sister's leg and Bellatrix took the carving knife out of the chicken, sliced off the beasts arm, and watched as it bled to death. After which she dropped the beasts body into a well in the Black family cemetery (located in the middle of a hedge maze in the back of the Black Estates) which soon became her usual burial ground.

Not long afterward, Bellatrix was introduced to both Sirius and Regulus. She disliked Regulus immediately, same as Andromeda. But in Sirius she found a partner in crime. As babies, Bella pretty much ignored both Sirius and Regulus. She spent long hours at 12 Grimmauld, learning all she could from her Aunt Walburga. However, by the time she was in school, Sirius had become someone she could teach her nasty tricks to. Frequently she cast spells on Andromeda, burned her sister's books, hid her favorite things, tortured and sometimes killed pets. And when the two of them had a chance to spend some time with Regulus, they often teased him to the point of tears. With him always following Sirius around, it was quite easy to lead him into the darkest, scariest parts of their properties. More than once Bella and Sirius dropped Regulus into the well that contained the decaying bodies of her victims.

Age sixteen gave Bellatrix her first kill. Her mother was determined that her wild and unruly daughter was going to be married in a proper pureblood marriage with a respectable family. Bellatrix was determined not to get married. She decided around age 13 when she started training with Tom Riddle, that she wouldn't marry. If she married, Bellatrix knew that all the respect she had earned would be shot to hell. So while her mother and his mother planned their fates, Bellatrix planned his murder. And before she entered her seventh year, Bella's betrothed was the first human body to be placed in her mass grave well. Tom was pleased with her and Bella was pleased with herself. From the start of their training together, Bellatrix had been pushed and tortured like she could have never dreamed. But she considered it a trade worth making. At the time, anyway, if she knew what was coming she might have reconsidered.

By the time Bella graduated, she had quite a reputation behind her. Mostly she was considered ruthless, cruel, and someone to avoid at all costs. Of course, part of her reputation had to do with the fact that she refused to marry as well. A fact which changed eventually. While visiting Regulus, who she had decided to devote her time training after Sirius disappointed her by getting sorted into Gryffindor, she caught the eyes of one Rodolphus Lestrange, eight years her junior. Normally she ignored anything of the male species, but his cool, calculated menace had her hooked immediately. And for the next few years she did what she swore she'd never do, she became a girl. For a short while she dressed up a bit (although only those around her constantly could tell) and wore a bit of make-up. She took every opportunity to appear at the school or at social functions where she knew Rodolphus would be, but made sure not to appear interested. Not long after, the pair was married. It's a marriage of equality, which is the only thing Bella would ever accept.

However, years of training with Voldemort have left Bellatrix barren. The Lestrange line will not be carried on through her. It something she and Rodolphus don't speak of, both blaming themselves for their lack of a proper heir. Bella started to become even more ruthless and less affectionate toward her husband (which was saying something). She became more dedicated to the cause which had robbed her husband of an heir. And of course since she was young she has had ultimate faith in the Dark Lord. If anyone could even come close to how much she loves Rodolphus (though she rarely if ever shows it), it would have to be Voldemort. So her future was set as far as she was concerned.

Azkaban changed Bella much less than the others who'd been and escaped. She went in heartless and cruel and remained so, even after years of crying out in pain behind her cell walls. She could hear her husband on the other side. She could almost feel his breath if she reached her hand out far enough. But both Rodolphus and Rabastan were beyond her reach. Voldemort was still missing. And the only thing keeping Bella from completely losing her mind was Narcissa's monthly visits. However, that was a side that Bellatrix left locked in the prison when she escaped. Cruelty return to her face and her actions. Her emotions were once more subdued. And, if possible, she was even colder to those that she "loved"... perhaps as a protection to her own emotions were she to ever face that kind of torture again. However, Bella's main purpose was as it always had been: To serve Voldemort in every way she possibly could.
