Narcissa Malfoy Samples
3rd Person Samples
001/1ST WAR Narcissa stood for a few long moments in front of her son's cradle. He was sound asleep, finally. Tonight was supposed to be a night for Narcissa and Lucius to spend alone. He was late at a meeting and Narcissa had been planning on spending the time primping. The au pair, a woman named Elphaba, was supposed to be taking care of Draco on her own for the evening. Usually Narcissa just kept Elphaba around while she took care of Draco herself, just in case. But on occasions such as this, Elphaba was left alone with Draco. At least, was supposed to be. But after more than a half an hour of hearing her son screaming, Narcissa couldn't handle it anymore. She'd stopped in her preparations, stormed through the house, and taken her baby boy from the incompetent young witch. Ten minutes and the Malfoy matron had gotten her son calmed down and sleeping. She trailed one long finger around her son's perfect little jaw and then left the room, closing the door behind her. With strict orders that Elphaba was not to enter the room unless Draco woke up, Narcissa returned to primping and preening. In a hurry, considering she was now going to be late.
Slipping her pure-white velvet traveling cloak from her shoulders, Narcissa let it hit the floor of the restaurant, knowing someone would catch it before it got dirty. She nodded to the arm of the host who held his arm out for her and took it as he led her to the table where her husband was waiting for her. Narcissa smoothed the wrinkles in her emerald green silk dress as the host pulled out her chair. It was, of course, the only thing on her that looked even the slightest bit out of place. Her make-up was flawless and only barely-there enough to almost be noticed, her hair was in a perfect little twist, and every bit of jewelry sat exactly where it was meant to. The only reason her dress was even a bit wrinkled was from her moving. She took her seat, not bothering to thank the host because it was his job and he was very obviously beneath her status. And then Narcissa turned a sweet smile toward her husband. "Well, this is lovely," she said, her voice smooth as silk and too quiet to be heard by anyone other than Lucius. "What's the occasion, Lucius?"

001/1ST WAR Such a day I've had. First it was lunch with Mum at Black Manor. She absolutely insists I come at least once a week so that she might dote on her new grandson. Considering Bellatrix hasn't had any children yet, she only has one grandchild to spoil. Draco absolutely laps up the attention. He certainly enjoys the Black Manor. Daddy only sees him enough to assure that he'll be a strong man to carry on the Black bloodline. He is certainly that. But he will make quite the appropriate Malfoy heir when he's old enough to take over for his father. I hope, of course, that day is not any time soon. For now he is perfect just the way he is. Currently he is just feet away from me in his little white pram, rocking back and forth under a charm I've casted. He's quite the content little prince. And beautiful. My son is so handsome. Oh, Salazar, there I go gushing again when this was supposed to be an entry about my day. Where was I? Oh yes, lunch with Mum. And then I had business to attend to for the Ladies' Society. And then we met with Lucius for dinner. It was a lovely dinner. My husband is amazing at picking out exactly what I like. And then I returned home to lay Draco down for the evening. There was some business to attend to at home, as usual. And now it is quiet time for a few hours before my husband returns. I have to say that I'm tired enough that I may just pass out when I'm finished writing this. I really must learn to prioritize and schedule things better. I should spread them out, or try at least. My calendar is so full that I'm not sure if that is possible. Oh well, I should try anyway. Ta!
