Madame Rosmerta Samples
3rd Person Samples
001/ANYTIME It was nearly three am when Rosmerta finally finished up for the night. She had managed to herd out the last of the drunks right around two ten. Most of the pub had been cleaned the hour before. She just had a few finishing touches to add. She needed to wipe down the counters, clean a few glasses, and do some sweeping and mopping. It really wasn't as hard of a job as it seemed. Or rather, Rosmerta managed to make light of the weight that was placed on her shoulders when her Mum died. Rosie was a people person, so it made business a lot easier to deal with. She didn't mind having to sit around and talk to anyone who walked through the door and wanted to chat. She didn't mind cooking for people, she rather enjoyed being in the kitchen. Really the cleaning and dealing with the business books was the only part that irritated her. And that was only a small thing in Rosmerta's mind. She loved her job. She just wished she hire someone to take some of the load off her shoulders. It was hard to work from six am to three am on the weekends and seven to midnight on the weekdays. And to have to be on call for inn patrons all hours of the night if they needed something.
Flopping down on the stairs after she finished mopping the floor, Rosie sighed and laid back. She let her eyes fall shut for a few minutes while she waited for the floor to dry. She had forgotten to mop backwards, again, and had mopped herself into a corner. Now she had to wait for it to dry before she could take the bucket and the mop back to the kitchen. Not that she minded, she needed a minute to sit before moving again anyway. Of course, it was no surprise when there was a furious banging on the front door. Rosie sighed. It just seemed like she'd never get a moment to herself. Pushing the bucket and mop aside. She slipped out of her shoes and tiptoed across her damp and drying floor. Dropping the ward and unlocking the door, Rosmerta's usual smile was in place as she pulled the heavy wooden doors aside to see who in Merlin's name was interrupting the three hours of sleep she got between Friday night and Saturday morning.

001/ANYTIME Well, you'd think a girl like me wouldn't have time for one of these things. And, really, you'd be right. I work more than I do anything else. But I'll tell you what, it isn't always as busy as you lot see during the weekends. Come in here around ten on a Tuesday and the only patron I've got is the alley cat that comes to the back door for the breakfast scraps. So I've got some time to sit around and write a bit. At least, after I'm done cleaning up. Of course it looks pretty good in here right about now so I'm sitting here scratching out an entry and, aren't we all surprised, little Rosie Posie doesn't have a ruddy thing to write! My day in and day out routine is pretty boring. I work, I take care of Papa, I sleep and I get up to start the whole thing over again. I haven't had a date in a month. Could it be that I'm settling down? Nah! Of course not! I'm just a little pre-occupied. If any of you young things are looking for a job, I could use the help. It'd be nice to have a day or so off. You wouldn't believe what running a full-time business will do to a girl's social life. It's a good thing I have such a social job or I might go mental!
