Harry Potter; Post-DH

[name/nicknames] Ginevra Molly Weasley-Potter. Gin, Ginny, Ginger, Ginnykins, Evra, Red, Freckles, Fireball, Firecracker.
[birthday] 11 August 1981
[bloodline] Pureblood. Bloodtraitor.
[allegiance] DA. OotP. The Light Side.
[occupation] Seeker for Holyhead Harpies. Stay-at-home-mom.
[school/house/years] Hogwarts, Gryffindor, 1992-1999.
[owl/newt scores] Astronomy A/drop. Charms A/E. CoMC O/E. DADA O/O. Herbology A/drop. HoM P/P. Muggle Studies E/A. Potions A/P. Transfiguration E/A.

[wand] 25 cm (10 inch). willow wood. mermaid hair.
[boggart] Young Tom Riddle. He did some screwed up things to her when she was little, so it's only logical that he's the one thing that scares her more than anything.
[patronus] a stallion
[amortentia smells like] the Room of Requirement & Quidditch
[in mirror of erised] Herself standing with Harry and surrounded by a handful of kids.
[special abilities] Her bat-bogey hex still is hardly to be reckoned with. She's excelled at offensive and defensive spells alike, especially resisting the Imperius. She's also a particularly good diplomat to the lycans, because her godson (by marriage) is half-lycan.

[build/height/weight] The shorter version of Weasley, like the twins, she stands at only 156 cm (5'1"). But her body is lanky like Ron's, so she looks taller than she really is. She has absolutely no curves, and certainly no boobs or bum. Over the past few years she's become pretty muscular from work, but not sickeningly so. Currently she weighs about 57 kg (125 lbs).
[hair/eyes] Her hair is fiery red and untameable. It's in a constant state of wavy-friz, no matter how much she brushes it. It's not half as bad as Hermione's, but certainly worse than most people's, mostly because she never really bothers with it.
Her eyes are brown, but they go a little hazel-greenish when she's particularly excited or very angry.
[identifying marks] Besides her hair, there's a near constant flush of red on her face for one reason or another. But the expression on her face is usually blazing as well for one reason or another, and that's pretty noticeable.
[style] Jeans and a t-shirt are the easiest things to move in, in Gin's opinion, so that's what she wears. She loathes dresses and refuses to wear them, but depending on the occasion (or the job) she might wear a skirt now and again. But it's rare that she dresses up at all.
[appearance] Much like the twins and Charlie, Ginny is the shorter version of Weasley. She barely hits 5'3 in height, and that's when she isn't slouching. She wasn't blessed with the height that the rest of her brothers got, and is a little bit bitter and jealous because of it. She hates being short because it leads to people underestimating her and thinking they can push her around. She did, however, get the lanky kind of look. She doesn't seem quite as short as she really is because her limbs are long and thin. Ginny is rather fit from years of running around with her brothers, from tireless quidditch practice, and now from the extensive physical work her job requires. And recently from chasing after a toddler. She's got one of those nice flat stomachs, football calves, and a good deal of upper-body strength. Sadly (at least, it gets her down now and again) she has absolutely no curves. She doesn't have hips, she doesn't have much of a waist, and her chest is practically flat as a board. With certain outfits and a bit of girlish shifting and readjusting she can have at least a tiny bit of cleavage, but that's rare and still not really much as far as a womanly figure goes. But sooner or later childbirth is going to fill her out similar to her mother.

And as for style, well, Ginny's never really had anyone to model herself after. She grew up with all brothers and a Mum who dressed for comfort. Any style Ginny might have is only natural instinct. She doesn't really know how to dress to accentuate her shape, or how to match and mismatch colors. Pretty much Ginny just wears what's comfortable, convenient... and more importantly, clean. When she can get away with it, Ginny wears jeans and a t-shirt. When she was at school she'd rather wear slacks than skirts. And during the summer she has a habit of running around in just a tank-top and jeans. The great thing about being flat-chested is that she can get away with not wearing a bra. It's rather convenient at times. Especially during quidditch, when all she really has to do is twist a wrap around herself. It's much easier and far more comfortable than a sports-bra.

Her hair, however, isn't quite as convenient. No matter what she does to it, Ginny's fire-red hair always looks unbrushed. Most days she doesn't even bother to brush it because by the time she reaches the office it looks like she didn't bother anyway. If she does anything to it, it's usually just pulling it up into a pony-tail. During work she likes to pull it into a braid or two, but she's usually too busy to actually remember to do that... so it usually ends up in just a pony-tail anyway. And with hair like that, it's pretty hard to even notice her eyes. They're nothing special, in her mind anyway. Just hazel. Although when she's really pissed, extremely excited, or especially horny, the little flecks of green brighten just the slightest bit, just enough so that you can notice them.

Another fairly noticeable feature are the freckles that sprinkle her flesh. Ginny is a red-head, so obviously her skin is extremely fair. It could be worse, of course, but considering how much time she spends outside, she's got a pretty decent tan for a red-head. But all the time outside has given Ginny a pretty solid covering of freckles. She liked to spend time down at creek behind the Burrow during the summers when she was young, and now she lays out on the beach regularly, so she's pretty well covered in freckles from head to toe... though there are very few people who know that.

[quirks] She will rub her hands to the point of being red and chapped when she's anxious. She bites her lip when she thinks. She sucks in her breath a lot when in an argument. Fidgets when she has to sit still. She also has an unnatural love for Italian food, especially spaghetti. She will not drink at all because she's a light-weight and afraid of what it'll do to her (or what she'll do/say to others).
[hobbies] quidditch. reading (yes, a shocker, but it's true). sparring. working out. (does sex count?)
[pet peeves] She loathes, more than anything else in the world, being underestimated. It's just something that gets under her skin. And depending on who it is, sometimes it makes her angry enough that she has to go take her temper out on a punching bag.
[first impression] Ginny is naturally charismatic. She comes off immediately as friendly and outgoing, as well as trustworthy. (Unless you're on the other end of her rage, then she comes off as unhinged, a bit crazy, and definitely a red-head.)
[likes/dislikes] likes: italian, weapons, quidditch, flying, the adrenaline rush from dangerous circumstances, danger, getting her way, being right, jeans and a tshirt, the smell of spring, outdoor activities and fighting. dislikes: being locked inside, paperwork, Percy, over arrogance (because it clashes with hers), feeling caged, being underestimated, unfair fights, injustice and hypocrisy.
[personality] Ginny was born the last of the Weasley children, and the only girl in a long standing line of Weasley baby boys. This is probably the main thing that played in to Ginny growing up the way she did. While Ron was the test subject for Fred & George's experiments, Ginny was their protoge. She learned early to defend herself and just as early to torture her siblings and friends. Her temper matches her hair and she's not afraid to let it shine. And while she began her years at Hogwarts as quite a mousy Weaslette, there's no doubt that Ginny Weasley has come out of her shell. Her curses and hexes are definitely not to be reckoned with, her anger is not something to bring upon yourself, and her determination is steadfast and nearly unstoppable. And her dating history, well it's quite extensive for a girl with six brothers and only a few years behind her, though she still lets very few people really know where her heart belongs: Harry Potter, since before she was even at Hogwarts.

Ginny has, since childhood, had a mean bat-bogey hex. However, in the past few years she has acquired quite a few new tricks. You can't stick to little things like that when facing well-trained Death Eaters. Her greatest weapon, she's come to realize, is her size. She's short, like the twins, with a petite little figure. This leads many people to underestimate Ginny. And it is never wise to underestimate Ginny. There's a whole lot of power in that little package because, as the twins like to say "size is no guarantee of power". Ginny has become quite adept at fighting off curses as well, especially the Imperius, thanks to her little incident in the Chamber of Secrets. She was afraid of falling under that same kind of curse and so she has worked tirelessly trying to master throwing the curses off.

And while her grades weren't as high as most, she did get by. They were just high enough to slide her in just above the line to take NEWT level classes that she wanted. It should also be noted that Ginny, with her size and skill, has all the makings of a great Seeker and Chaser. Growing up with all brothers she learned to be fast, and when she couldn't be fast enough, she learned to duck. And sometimes that didn't work, so she had to learn how to throw a punch as well. I promise that no one wants to get in a one on one fist fight with Ginny Weasley. It isn't a safe thing to attempt.

Ginny is not particularly fond of anything that has her sitting still in a room, especially a room with no windows. Meaning that classrooms or offices in general are very low on her list of favorite things, as is that hiding-out thing everyone wanted her to do. She has a lot of energy and hates being tied down. When she's in meetings Ginny tends to fidgit. A lot. She can't sit still for more than five minutes. After learning that Binns has lost his hearing along with his life, Ginny took to playing Exploding Snap in History of Magic class to keep herself busy. Which is just one of the many things she pulled off to stave off her restlessness. She hates feeling like a caged tiger. She also hates, quite possibly hates even more than anything else, being underestimated. Her entire life Ginny has been looked down on for one reason or another. She's the baby of the family. She's the only girl. She's short. She's this or that or another thing. And Ginny hates it. She knows that she can hold her own. Ginny can probably fight better than most full trained Aurors, with her wand or without it. She knows that she's a bloody brilliant Seeker and Chaser. Ginny knows that size has nothing to do with anything. She hates being looked at like one of those china dolls that is going to break. She doesn't want to be protected, she can protect herself.

And as for likes, Ginny is rather partial to a comfortable pair of jeans and an old t-shirt. It sounds like a silly thing to list as a like or dislike, but Ginny hates the way that the robes confine her. It's that whole tiger in a cage thing again. In jeans and a t-shirt, Ginny has more freedom of movement. She's also fond of spring. The earth is still a bit soggy, but it's green. Everything smells nice. The weather is good for just about any kind of activity you could want to do outside (and Ginny loves outside activities). So spring is her favorite season.

Probably her most notable quirk is that when she is going through any kind of anxiety (nervous excitement, worry, agitation, irritation, depression) she wrings her hands together, sometimes so hard that they turn pink depending on the situation. She also, and she gets a bit perturbed if anyone mentions it, has a habit of twisting a strand of hair from the base of her neck around her finger when she's lost in whatever she's reading.

[family/pets] Well, Ginny is related in an immediate family kind of way to probably just about half of the Order. Admittedly, her favorite brother is Charlie with Bill as a close second. She's the most like the twins (with the exception of her temper that is very much Ron's). And most times, though she won't openly admit it, she's more like close friends with Ron. They have their moments of brotherly/sisterly arguing, but she considers him a friend more than her other brothers. And as they get older, he's starting to be the only one she confides in anymore. She's currently on a "Percy doesn't exist" tangent because she's highly furious at him still. And through the years she's kept a close eye on her pygmy puff Arnold. He's getting old, and though the fad is long over she still loves him and will cuddle him until his dying day.
Harry, her husband right around 2004. Firstborn James Sirius, 2005. Secondborn Albus Severus, 2006. And the surprise baby girl, Lily Luna, 2008.
[childhood/current residence] The Burrow. Now: She's working on making a real home with Harry. Although that's turning out to be a bit more difficult than she'd expected.
[finances] Gin grew up poor and never minded it one bit, maybe because she was the youngest and never got hand-me-downs, but the most likely explanation is that Gin puts more weight on other things (like family, love, happiness, etc). Now she makes out relatively well on her Quidditch salary, but she's a bit of a spendaholic, so it pretty much ends up being just a little bit over her monthly expenses. Although with Harry's salary and family wealth in pocket as well, she's definitely not scraping anymore.
[friends/enemies] Hermione is her best friend, without question. Ginny tells Hermione absolutely everything (or at least, everything she isn't hiding from even herself... which isn't very much to be honest). Basically, though, Ginny has shut out most people in her life. Her friendly and charismatic attitude has kind of subsided as she focused more on the war and proving that she didn't need protected. Currently she's trying to rekindle old friendships.
[sexuality/exes] Hetero. Harry is, of course, the love of her life. She also dated Michael Corner, Dean Thomas, and a few other blokes, but none of them are really important to her.
[turn ons/offs] She's turned on by power, heroism, impulsiveness, green eyes, black hair, muscles, being thrown around/pinned, throwing people around/pinning them, adrenaline, and indirect arrogance. She's turned off by apathy, passivity, weakness, red-hair (she can't help it) and whining.

[history] Surprisingly, the hardest thing about growing up as the only girl in the long line of Weasley men wasn't dealing with her six brothers. Although that couldn't be labeled as a "piece of cake" in any case. Ginny learned early which of her brothers hit the hardest (Bill by far), which one lied to her the most about things like dementors under her bed (Fred), which one tried to trick her into doing things he couldn't have gotten away with (George), which one used her to make himself look better and as a punching bag when he was stressed (Ron), which one would swat at her like a fly if she got too near or too annoying (Percy), and which one to trust for everything else (Charlie). She figured out how to hold her own with her brothers, as any girl in her situation did. The hardest part for Ginny had to do with her age and her reputation. As the youngest, Ginny was constantly trying to stand out. Arthur and Molly fawned over her, of course, but Ginny didn't want to be known as the baby girl of the Weasleys. While she was lucky enough to be the first girl, even if she was the youngest, and missed out on all the hand-me-downs her brothers got, Ginny felt like all her brothers were good at something and she didn't stand out in the least. And though she still has a hard time getting her parents to recognize exactly who she has become, there's no doubt that her brothers can see, respect, and use the many talents she's acquired. Acting, for instance, or in other words, lying poker faced to Molly and Arthur for the sake of keeping everyone out of trouble. Or her skill on the Quidditch field. Or her sudden burst of popularity.

Ginny grew up quiet, but it's been said the quiet ones are the ones you have to watch out for. Ron would beg to differ, of course, but when she was younger it took Ginny quite a while to get used to strangers. Arthur and Molly, not to mention her big brothers, sheltered Ginny from the time she was born. When they were around new people Ginny was quiet and a good deal reserved. As a child she would frequently run and hide behind Molly when they were out and about. But at home was a completely different story. She was a boisterous little girl from the time she was born. Ginny followed in her brother's footsteps, getting into trouble left and right. She especially loved when Molly had to run into the Muggle parts of town because that meant she could get into things and Molly couldn't use magic to stop her! (For instance, playing in the mud!) She liked to eat worms and play dress-up with the petrified garden gnomes. And pretty much any time Molly tried to teach her how to do girly things (cooking, cleaning, sewing, etc), she ran furiously the other way.

By the time most of her brothers were in school, Ginny had learned to work the system. The system being her parents, of course. She knew how and when to sneak around. She could slip out in the mornings without being noticed. She used the times that Ron was getting scolded to disappear out the back door. Ginny knew where the keys were to the back shed. She frequently slipped out and stole her brother's brooms to ride around on when no one was watching. They wouldn't let her play quidditch with them, but that had nothing to do with whether she could or not. And she was determined to be as good or better than all of them. So she practiced whenever she had the chance.

Ginny's first year at Hogwarts was not without its trials and tribulations. In fact, that was the year that changed everything. Tom Riddle changed everything. And though Ginny is forever denying (quite vehemently) that she remembers anything, it is fairly clear that the events leading up to the Chamber of Secrets incident have forever scarred her. Ginny fell in love twice that year. She was, of course, already quite smitten with Harry Potter. The fact that he'd saved her, that he'd really been her knight in shining armor, only solidified that. And the other, well, Ginny refuses to address those feelings. In fact, she refuses talk about her first year at all. The memory of the things that happened that year will forever haunt her, but she'd prefer not to relive them in any way. So she locks them away and pretends they never happened.

The next few years signaled a true change in Ginny. She was sick of being known as the littlest Weasley. She didn't want to continue to be seen as just Ron's baby sister. She had her first date in third year, attending the Yule Ball with Neville. And soon after she moved rather quickly through boyfriends. Michael, who was a bit too whiny for Ginny's taste. Then there was Dean, who was a bit too pushy. And then, of course, there was Harry. Though she had convinced Hermione in her third year that she was completely over Harry, had convinced herself as well, until he kissed her and everything came flooding back. But the time between her obsession with Harry and a real relationship with him had been good to her. Ginny grew into her own in those years, finding a voice that can only be described as red-headed. She was fiery, throwing curses and dirty looks any way they were needed. And she was also sporty, taking up with the Gryffindor Quidditch team and making quite a name for herself on the field. The years of secret practice had definitely payed off.

During her last few years at Hogwarts Ginny felt a little underestimated. She was getting slightly frustrated at being left out by the trio. She knew, of course, that she'd never be as close to them as they are to each other. However, that didn't mean she wasn't an important part of the fight and no one seemed to understand that. She got seriously irritated that everyone wanted her locked away in the castle while they all ran off to save the world. She was irritated that they were allowed to be a part of the Order and she wasn't not even allowed to know what's going on. Ginny has faced more than some members of the Order and she's never understood why they kept trying to lock her away where shed be "safe". So, of course, she threw herself headfirst into the last battle at Hogwarts.

Pain unlike anything she'd ever experienced followed the battle. The loss of those she loved was a hard hit. Especially Fred. And Tonks had been like a sister to her. And Colin, well she'd always counted on him to just... you know... be there. And then he wasn't. It was painful. So Ginny did the only thing she could think to do, she distracted herself. Quick as a whip she tried out for every Quidditch team she could. If Krum could get on one, a national one at that, in his last year, so could Ginny. And, lo and behold, the Harpies were thrilled to have her. She played reserve for a few years, of course, but they quickly moved her up to starting Seeker.

And after a few years of success, when the fame was getting too much, there was Harry, waiting to save her... as usual. They loved, they fought, they made up. Nothing had really changed in all that time. But suddenly, perhaps sensing Ginny's inner-desire to settle down finally, Harry decided to pop the question. And rather quickly there was a son. And then another. And finally a daughter. And, truth be told, Ginny couldn't have been happier if she'd become the most well-known name in Quidditch history. She loves her children with the fiercity that Molly loved hers. She was the over-protective mother, when need-be. And at the same time had each of her kids on a broom by the time they were three. She never spoiled, but never let her kids feel the wanting that she had felt once or twice (and Ron had always felt) in her childhood. And really she is aching for another baby. Ginny enjoyed her huge family, and Harry had always wanted one of his own, so really there was no question that they'd have a rather large one, too.
